Plywood panels provide more security to the fence that is already around your yard or property. You can also beautify the fence and the panels by giving it a good finishing touch and painting it nicely. You may also create a sort of combination where the fence and the panel would complement the exteriors of your house. One of the main disadvantages of a plywood panel is that over time, it tends to start cracking or the wood gets spoiled due to exposure to the elements, like sun and rain. Follow the simple steps below to effectively install plywood panels in your wood fence.

Step 1: Remove the Old Panels

Remove all the old wooden panels by very carefully taking out the screws or nails. Pay special attention to nails that are old or rusted.

Step 2: Measure the New Panel

Measure the length of the panel with the tape so that the new panel will fit perfectly. Cut the wooden panel into 2 big halves, and trim the edges accordingly so that the rough edges do not hurt anyone when you are placing the panels on the fence.

Step 3: Decide Where to Place the Panel

Determine the distance between each panel with the tape. Cut the wooden panel accordingly, and place it on an angle to see if it is in the correct position. Mark the position with a pencil so that it acts as a guide. Make sure that it is properly angled at 45 degrees.

Step 4: Drill Holes

Use the drilling machine to drill on the dot that was marked as a guide. If possible, have someone hold the panel so that you can drill the panel along with the fence for a proper measurement.

Step 5: Mount the Panel

Place the wooden panel on the fence, and secure it with the help of screws and nails. You can also screw the panel in the center as well as the bottom to make the panel more secure.

Step 6: Place the Next Panel

Continue Steps 4 and 5 the same way to place the all the other panels on the fence.
