Swing arm curtain rods provide a convenient way to install curtains in small spaces. This is because the swing arm curtain rod can be mounted to either the wall or the ceiling.
Step 1 - Mount the Rod
Find the best place to mount your curtain rod. This should be a fairly intuitive process. You will want to mount the rod near enough to the window to cover it. Mark off the spots where you will be putting your screws with the pencil, by holding the mounting bracket up to the wall and coloring in the holes. Drill the holes at the marked locations, using a level to be certain that you've made a straight line. While holding the mounting bracket, drill the bottom screw in first, and then the top one.
Step 2 - Consider Space
Be certain that your swing arm has an unimpeded path. If this is not the case, you will have to start from scratch, so it's best to be certain about this before screwing your mounting bracket to the wall. The curtains themselves will simply slide onto the mounting bracket, and then you have successfully installed your swing arm curtain rod.
