How to Install T-Molding for Wood Flooring How to Install T-Molding for Wood Flooring

What You'll Need
Tape measure

Putting a t-molding in with your wood flooring can help provide you with a nice, finished look for your new floor. It can also help you adjoin to other wood, tile, or laminate. Here are the basics of how to install t-molding for wood flooring.

Step 1- Measure the Area

The first thing that you will have to do is measure the area that the wood adjoins to another flooring. Take your tape measure and use it to get the dimension of the opening. With this dimension, you can appropriately mark the t-mold in the area in which it needs to be cut.

Step 2- Make the Cut

Once the t-molding is appropriately marked, you need to cut it with the saw. Be sure to hold it firmly so that you can make a clean, straight cut on the t-molding.

Step 3- Adhere the T-molding

Once you have the t-molding cut, it is ready to install in the opening. You can install it by using adhesive or by nailing it into a wood sub floor. If you are using adhesive, apply it to the back of the t-molding and then press it firmly in place. Then leave something heavy on it while the adhesive dries.
