How to Level a Pool Table How to Level a Pool Table
The technique to level a pool table depends on the type of the table. For example, in some tables the bottom plate meets the floor screws in and out, allowing you to change the table level with just a twist of that bottom plate. While other types of tables are easily leveled by sliding a thin piece of material called shims under the leg of the table.
Step 1 - Leveling the Slates
You first need to level the state of the pool table. If you require complete accuracy, then you must level each of the table’s slate pieces. Though the edges of the table might be at level, it’s the slates of the pool table which help in giving it a perfect level.
Step 2 - Loosen Bolts
Loosen the bolts so as to enable you to slide the thin slims under each slate.
Step 3 - Checking the Level
Check the level which is set on the table when the bolts are tightened and make the necessary adjustments required. This process can be time consuming.
Step 4 - Testing the Pool Table
Once the necessary adjustments are done, all you need to do is to test it. You can do a ball test or a roll test to check if the pool table is leveled properly or not.
