Tools and Materials Needed:

  • Tape measure
  • Vinyl
  • Scissors
  • Caulking gun and caulk
  • Cleaning solution
  • Rags
  • Putty knife

Step 1 – Repair any Cracks

If you find that there are any cracks in the guttering, you need to fix these quickly. Clean away the cracked area using an appropriate cleaning solution. Apply the silicone sealant to the broken area, spreading it thoroughly over the location using a putty knife. Scrape away any excess and leave the area to dry.

Step 2 – Repair any Holes

To repair holes, you will need to cut a replacement section of vinyl. Measure the area first and cut out a section of vinyl that overlaps the edges of the hole by about an inch. Apply the silicone sealant around the seams on the inside of the gutter and press the vinyl in place, scraping away any excess caulk in the process.
