If you have a trailer wheel lock in your boat trailer, then you may be unsure how to operate it in order to ensure that it locks properly. Without this lock, the trailer is more at risk of being stolen and also damaged when it is not in use. Locking the trailer wheel clamp is not difficult, and by following a few simple steps, you should be able to manage it easily.
Step 1 - Position the Clamp Lock
Park the trailer on a level surface in an area that is well lit. Take the trailer wheel lock out of the packaging, and place the large disk onto the outer surface of the wheel, facing away from the rest of the trailer. This disk should fit fairly tightly into position.
Step 2 - Close the Trailer Wheel Lock
You should then move the bar that is attached to the wheel lock across the surface of the metal disk. This should provide a tightly sealed surface. You can then lock the wheel clamp by sliding the forked section over the bar. This will prevent the wheel from turning. Use the padlock to keep everything together, and then remove the key.
