Foam board is versatile and a fun thing to keep on hand for crafts. But it can also be used to creating a handy bulletin board for you and your family to stick notes on. One great reason to make a bulletin board out of foam is that it allows you to hang things on your wall without putting holes in it. Plus it is a fun craft to do.

Step 1 - Buy the Supplies

All of the items needed can be bought almost anywhere from Wal-Mart to a craft store. You can even buy all of this online if you live out in the country and do not have a store nearby. So all items can be bought fairly quickly. You can also buy glitter glue and anything else that you may want to add to make it more unique.

Step 2 - Determine Size

Figure out how large you want the foam board bulletin board to be. You will then need to draw out the outline on the board you are going to cut. Then you can use either a knife or scissors to cut it in the desired size.

If you want to use different colored pieces of foam board to create a bigger board, you will also need to mark where to cut on them. Then you can cut the pieces and glue them together to form one board.

After cutting the board and creating the size, you can start gluing on cloth or pretty paper if you want. You can also use stickers, yarn, felt cutouts, or anything else that you wish to add. Have fun with it, and use your imagination. When you are done, use a clear glue to cover the whole board for prevention of it is falling apart later on.

Step 3 - Set Up Frame

Plastic or wooden frames should work well for this. However, metal frames are fine if you would prefer to use them. You will need to remove the glass panel for you to be able to use the bulletin board, so go ahead and remove that first. Attach magnets to the back of the frame.

You will need a strong glue or glue gun and smooth out the glue before placing the magnets on. You want to keep each magnet at least 1 inch apart, so space the glue according to that. After placing the magnets on wet glue, allow it to dry.

Step 4 - Put it all Together

Now all you need to do is to put the board in the frame, close the frame and attached it to any metal surface. Before placing them on any metal surface, make sure that everything has dried. Otherwise, the magnets could fall off. So be sure to double-check it. After putting the board up, you can add pictures, notes, and tacks to it.
