How to Make a Car Canopy Frame

What You'll Need
Adhesive tape
100 square foot canvas
Epoxy adhesive
4 square plywood pieces - 6 inches each
4 flagpole stands - 1 1/2 inches each
4 3-sided pole fittings
8 10-feet poles

Assembling a car canopy is a great idea, especially if you do not have a garage to protect your vehicle from the elements. Thankfully, you can construct the canopy frame on your own without having to spend a lot of money. Here are a few steps that can help you through this project.

Step 1 - Set Up the Poles

Begin by setting up the poles one by one. Place the stands where you want the frame to go, add epoxy in the holes, and then stick the poles inside. Hold for several minutes to be sure that they set.

Step 2 - Connect with 3-Way Fittings

Next, place the 3-way fittings on the top of each pole. Attach the top square of the frame into the fittings so that they connect together. Placing a small amount of epoxy into each fitting will help to hold them securely.

Step 3 - Attach Canvas

Now that the frame has been constructed, you can attach the canopy on top. Use epoxy or adhesive tape to stick the canvas to the frame.
