A Christmas wreath made with roses can offer an elegant, rich look to any holiday decor. While a Christmas wreath made with roses looks dramatic, it is simple to make and can be very cost effective, but still look expensive.
Tools and Materials
- Styrofoam wreath form
- Silk ribbon
- Crafting glue
- Crafting pins
- Silk roses
- Velvet bows
Step 1: Attach Ribbon to Wreath Form
Apply a thin coat of clear or white crafting glue onto your wreath form, and then wind your silk ribbon evenly around the wreath. Make sure that all visible parts of Styrofoam is covered so it does not peek through the ribbon.
Step 2: Apply Silk Roses on Wreath Form
When choosing your roses, select festive colors such as red, purple, gold and silver. Put a drop of glue on the back of each silk rose, and gently press onto your wreath form. For extra holding power, secure your roses with a few floral or crafting pins to make sure your roses stay secure. Make sure you cover the entire wreath form with your roses so that your Christmas wreath looks full.
Step 3: Apply Velvet Bows
After your roses have been securely attached to your wreath, apply red or gold velvet bows around your wreath. Intersperse your bows evenly throughout the wreath, making sure that they do not obscure the beauty of the roses. Alternatively, you can add one large bow to the wreath, either at the top or bottom.
