A leaf mulcher is something that you can easily make yourself. You will find that purchasing one at the store is something that can be very expensive. However, making one yourself will save you a lot of money and will help you to understand the inner workings of your mulcher and therefore understand it better in general. You will also be able to understand when something is wrong with it and how to fix it. Typically, the easiest way for you to make your own leaf mulcher is to simply make some adjustments to your mower that you already have.

Mower Mulcher Blade
Step 1 – Take Blade from Mower
You will begin by putting your mower up on its side so that you can get to the blade of it. From there, you will take your wood block and put it between the body of your mower and the actual blade. This is something that will help to keep your blade from moving as you are working.
Step 2 – Bolt
Once you have the mower set up, you will need to get the bolts loosened that are securing the blade in place. After you have gotten the nut loosened up, you will be able to take it off with your hand.
Step 3 – Blade
You are going to need to take off the old blade so that you can get the new blade installed into it. In order to do this, you are going to get the nut tightened up by hand and then put your wood block back up so that the blade once again is unable to move.
Step 4 – Discharge Cover
You are now ready to get the nut tightened up with your socket wrench. Once you have done this, you will be able to move on to getting the discharge chute replaced with your discharge cover. Make sure that you get the discharge chute measured. The width will need to be measured so that you can figure out how big of a discharge cover is going to be needed for your mower deck.
Step 5 – Separate
Your discharge chute now needs to be separated from your existing mower. In order to do this, you will get the bolts removed. These bolts are what will secure the body of the mower deck. It may be a good idea for you to get another wrench so that you can hold on to the nut that is on the inside of your mower deck as you loosen your bolt.
Step 6 – Finish Up
It is now time for you to get the discharge cover placed over the chute so that you can check to see if the bolt holes line up the way that they should. Get the bolts inserted into the holes and also tighten them up. Start up your mower and then go over a little section of your yard so that you are sure that the mower is mulching the way that it should.
