Many people have used a pipe cleaner sometime in their lives, but usually in arts and crafts. A pipe cleaner bends easily and has fine brushes all along it which cleans the inside of a pipe. PVC pipes often require a special pipe cleaner due to their diameter. The article that follows will show you how to make a pipe cleaner from material around your home.
Step 1 - The Scrubber
A pipe cleaner is little help without having bristles that can scrape the sides of the pipe. Cut the microfiber cloth into thin strips several inches long and then cut them in half.
Step 2 - The Bristles
Rip the steel wool into strips. You can also cut them if the scissors are sharp enough. Pull the weaving apart.
Step 3 - Assemble the Cleaners
Use the strong glue to affix the steel wool to one side of the cloth leaving an inch on each side. Create as many of these as you want.
Step 4 - Make the Pipe Cleaner
Cut the tube to the length you require. Glue the cleaner strips down and around the length of the tube. Fit as many scrubbers as you can on the tube.
