Adjustable Table Stand
Tiltable Desktop Stand
Screwdriver

Screws
Handcrank

You can make an adjustable work table to use as a project space in your home workshop. You can find this type of table for between $200 and $500 dollars in a variety of styles and sizes. Making your own tiltable adjustable table can help you save on the cost of a manufactured table and provide you with a way to create your own workspace for your home. While you can purchase a kit to build this type of table, you can also follow the steps below to make the whole thing yourself.

Step 1: Purchase Materials

To begin, acquire the materials needed to build the table. Many of these materials can be found at a home improvement center. For the adjustable and tiltable stands, you may need to go online and order these pieces from a manufacturer who will ship them to your home. Ensure that the two stands are compatible with one another.  You will need to be able to put the stands together as one piece once the wooden desktop is mounted in Step 2.

Step 2: Assemble the Pieces

Once you have obtained the individual pieces, find a space that is large enough to accomplish the assembly. Begin by mounting the wood desktop on the tiltable desktop. Use the drill to make holes in the wooden desktop that will allow you to attach it to the tiltable desktop stand. Fasten the wooden desktop to the stand with screws.

Step 3: Attach the Desktop Stand to the Adjustable Table Stand

With the desktop assembled, place it inside the adjustable table stand. Tighten the screws that attach the stands to each other. Make sure that they are properly secured before proceeding to the next step.

Step 4: Place the Handcrank in Position

With the 2 stands fitted together, place the handcrank in position. This will allow you to raise and lower the desktop as well as tilt it. You will need to test the assembly by moving the table into different heights with the handcrank. The work table should have a locking mechanism build in that allows you to lock the height as well as the angle tilt that you need for your work table.
