Bead seat covers are add-ons to your car seat that you simply put on and tie at the back. Their purpose is to massage your back and thighs while driving. This makes you more relaxed and increases blood circulation in your body.
- 1-inch beads
- Tape Measure
- Nylon Cord
- Work Table
Step 1: Preparation
Measure the backrest and multiply the length of the backrest (top to bottom) by 2 and this will be the length that you need for each nylon cord. The number of nylon cords will depend on how many rows of beads you would like for your seat cover.
Step 2: Readying the Beads
Use your measurements to determine the number of beads you need. Multiply the number of rows by the number of inches to obtain a total. Place the beads into bowls and separate by color if you're using more than one. This will make it easer to handle the beads.
Step 3: Fitting the Beads
Get each nylon cord and fold it in the middle and insert it into one bead. Tie a knot around the bead to serve as a stopper and prevent the other beads from falling off. Fill the nylon cord until it is full and tie a knot on the end for your bead seat. Repeat the process for each cord.
Step 4: Connecting the Vertical Beads
Now lay down all the strings of beads together on a work surface and line them up. Get the horizontal length of the beads while lined up together and cut nylon string twice that length. Fold the nylon string in half and run it through the beads on top (where you made knots over) to connect them all together. Do the same to the bottom. You now have a beaded backrest. Repeat the process for the bead seat.
