It’s very easy to make ice cream jello. This fruity dessert that combines vanilla ice cream with Jello is a real people pleaser. With these easy steps you'll be serving up delicious ice cream Jello in no time at all.
Step 1 - Mix the Ingredients
Get the packets of Jello and dissolve it into 4 cups of water. After the powder has been completely dissolved, pour the water into a pot. Bring the water to a boil, stirring constantly. After boiling, take the pot out of the fire. Gradually add 1 gallon of vanilla ice cream into the water.
While adding the ice cream, start using the electric mixer and set it on medium or high speed. Continue blending the ingredients for another 5 to 10 minutes. This is to ensure that the Jello mix and the ice cream will not clump separately when cooled.
Step 2 – Let the Mixture Cool off
After blending, pour the mixture into a pan. A pan of any size and shape can be used for this, but a bundt pan is best for aesthetic purposes. Using a bundt pan will make the ice cream Jello form into a cake-like shape which will make it more attractive once served.
After you've poured all the contents of the pot into the pan, place it inside the refrigerator. Usually, it will take about 12 hours (overnight) for the ice cream Jello to cool properly.
If you think the ice cream Jello has already cooled down nicely, take it out and test if the Jello has set to its proper firmness. To do this, gently press the top of the dessert with your index finger. If it feels squishy and wet, put it back inside the refrigerator and wait for another few minutes.
Step 3 – Serve the Dessert
When the Jello is perfectly firm, it’s now ready to be served. To get the mold out of the pan, get a pot bigger than the pan and fill a third full with warm water. Place the pan into the pot with hot water and wait for the mold to loosen.
After the mold has loosened, take it out of the pot and get a serving plate. Turn the plate upside down and place it at the mouth of the pan. Afterwards, press the plate to the pan and turn them right side up, both at the same time. You’ll know that you’ve done this correctly if the bottom of the pan is visible on top of the serving plate. Then, remove the pan slowly from the ice cream Jello so that the shape will not be ruined.
