One of the things that many bathrooms need today is magazine storage. It seems that no matter what bathroom you enter, there are several magazines piled on the vanity, or stacked in the closet. Reading while in the bathroom is just something that people do to pass the time. Keeping all these magazines organized is essential to keeping your bathroom clean. This is easily taken care of with a simple magazine rack made from regular items.

Step 1- Gather up Magazines

Gather up the magazines you currently have in the bathroom. See how many you usually keep in there at once. This system is a very basic, but easy to look at, magazine rack built with towel racks. So, you will not want to have a lot of different magazines. If you do, then you can customize the look with two or more different styles of towel racks.

Step 2- Find Studs

The easiest way to make a simple magazine rack in your bathroom is to install a towel rack. You can do this near the toilet area, or in some other corner out of the way. The idea is to give you an organized place to hang your magazines.

To install the rack, you must find the studs in the wall. You can do this with a simple stud finder. They work by sensing the density of the wall. When it comes to a stud, there will be lights and a beeping sound. Mark both edges of the stud and continue searching for others in the wall.

Step 3- Install Towel Bars

Now that you know where the studs are, you can safely hang the towel racks without worrying about them falling off. Set the rack on the wall and place a level on the bar. Situate the bar so that it is horizontally level and screw it to the wall with the provided screws.

Step 4- Install Other Towel Racks

If you have the space, and want to keep multiple magazines in your bathroom, you can install other towel racks. If you use this approach, mix it up a little by having racks with wire baskets, or shelving. Keep them all uniform (color, materials) but use different styles. Install them in the same way you did the first.

Step 5- Hang Magazines on New Rack

Take your magazines and hang them onto your new rack. They will hang down with the spine of the magazine keeping it on the rack. Place the magazine on top of the bar and let it slide between the pages. It will work best if you find the middle of the magazine. This way there isn't too much weight going one way or the other.

Step 6- Keep It Fresh

One way to keep your magazine rack looking good is to keep it organized. If you notice older versions of magazines that have been read several times already, exchange them for new ones.
