How to Make Sure Your Organic Cotton Bathroom Towels Are Colorfast

What You'll Need
Bucket or plugged sink
Cold water

If you've invested in organic cotton bathroom towels you'll want to make sure the colors don't run when you wash them. Here are a few steps to ensure they are colorfast.

Step 1 - Mix Solution

The first thing that you will need to do is mix together 1/4 cup salt, 1 cup vinegar and 1 1/2 gallons cold water in a bucket or plugged sink.

Step 2 - Soak Towels

Next, put a few of the organic towels into the bucket. You will want to continue to mix and move them around every few hours for the next day.

Step 3 - Rinse and Wash

After they have been in the mixture for 24 hours you can take them out and rinse with cold water until the mixture is washed out. You want to make sure that all of the mixture gets out and that when you squeeze the towels, they run clear with water. If there is a little of the mixture left, be sure to rinse a few more times. Then, you can wash with the regular laundry.

Once you have protected the organic cotton towels with this solution, you can be sure that they will be safe to wash with the regular laundry from now on.
