Mixing Laticrete grout at the end of a tile job is one of the most important steps in the process. A good grout job can add a professional finished look to the entire project. A bad grout job can make it look like an amateur did the job. Here are a few things to keep in mind when mixing Laticrete grout.
Step 1 - How Much?
Determine how much grout mixture to pour in your bucket. Read the side of the container to determine how much you should use for your specific tile job. A typical bag of grout will do around 100 square feet of tile depending on the size of the grout joint.
Step 2 - Mixture
Pour the grout in the bucket and then determine how much water you need to mix in. Read the side of the bag and determine how much water you need. Mix the grout up to the consistency of peanut butter. If it is a little hard, you can always add some more water to get it to the consistency you need.
Step 3 - Use
Thoroughly mix the grout up and then let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes. Once the grout is ready, start using it immediately. You will not want let it sit too long as it will harden.
