The slate roof tiles may sometimes appear dull and gray. But you can impart an elegant appearance to the roof by painting the slate tiles. Step 1: Determination of Weather Condition
Prior to starting the painting task, make sure that the weather is clear and warm.
Step 2: Cleaning Slate Tiles
Use a ladder to carefully climb atop the roof. Then clean the tiles with the help of a power washer. After rinsing the slate roof tiles, allow them to dry.
Step 3: Application of Primer
Once the roof is completely dried, the next step is to apply a primer that is especially made for slate tiles. For best results, it is recommended to use Rustoleum primer 44. Upon the application of primer using a paint brush, allow it to dry.
Step 4: Renewal Coating
To add to the tiles and to ensure long-lasting protection, you can provide a renewal coating to the tiles, preferably using Rustoleum Dac-Hydro tile paint.
