A water well pump is an instrument which is used to pump water out of the well. When these pumps are exposed to the environment they can rust, and require a good cleaning. If you allow the pump to rust the system can degrade or freeze. Removal of rust is very simple if the following steps are followed.

Step 1: Scrubbing

Using the scrubbing pad, remove the rust from the pump.

Step 2: Cleansing

Using a paper towel, apply mineral oil to the rust stains. Let the oil soak into the rust stains and scrub it again with the scrubbing pad. Now, wipe the mineral oil and rust from the pump with a paper towel.

Step 3: Removal

Make a mixture of 1 part little lemon juice and 2 parts borax. Apply this mixture to the rust stains with a scrubbing pad and rub it on the old water pump. Leave it for 20 minutes. Rub it again on the rust stains. This mixture is useful for removing rust because of acidic nature of lemon juice.

Your old water well pump has a new look.
