Acting immediately is essential to minimize the damage of the spray and make it easier to remove.

Step 1-Keep Pet Outside

You can use this solution for people, pets or anything that is sprayed by a skunk. Of course you should test a small area when using it on clothing, furniture or carpet since it does have hydrogen peroxide which may not be safe to use on all colors.

  • One quart 3% hydrogen peroxide
  • ¼ cup baking soda

Step 8-Remove Skunk Odor from House

If, the inside of your basement, porch, garage or house is sprayed by a skunk, the first thing you need to do is ventilate the area by opening doors and windows. Use an atomist sprayer which covers a large area including nooks and crevices with a fine deodorizing mist. Be sure to change the air filter in your furnace/air conditioner because the skunk odor can get trapped in it and circulate throughout the house. There are several commercial products available to help eliminate skunk odor. When using a commercial products read and follow the directions carefully.
