How to Remove Stains from a Marmoleum Floor

A marmoleum floor is a more natural alternative to linoleum floor and is ideal in areas that are heavily circulated. The cleaning of this type of floors is easy and even if you are dealing with stains, these can be removed with commercial or home produced solutions.

Tools and Materials Needed:

  • Dish detergent
  • Vinegar
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Sponges

  • Mop

Step 1 – Prepare the Cleaning Solution

Mild stains can be easily removed with diluted dish detergent. You may also prepare a solution of vinegar, 1 parts vinegar and 10 parts warm water.

Step 2 – Clean and Scrub the Stained Area

With a mop, clean the entire surface, insisting on the spotted area. Using a sponge, scrub the stained area and then use a dry piece of cloth to dry the stained surface.

Step 3 – Use Hydrogen Peroxide

If the stain persists, you can use hydrogen peroxide. Use 1 part hydrogen peroxide and 1 part cold water. Apply the solution on the stain, leave it on for up 5 to minutes and then scrub the area.

Step 4 – Use Rubbing Alcohol

If none of the above mentioned techniques remove the stain, you can use rubbing alcohol and scrub the stain, until you see it is completely removed.
