How to Repair Curtain Rod Brackets How to Repair Curtain Rod Brackets

What You'll Need
Hot Glue or Wood Glue (this will depend on what your brackets are made of)
Drill
Screw Driver
Tape (optional)

Curtains can be heavy, depending on what they are made of, and they can weaken curtain rod brackets. Due to this, they can fall off walls and even chip or crack. Knowing how to repair or re-install them can be a handy skill. Here is how.

Step 1: Take down the Brackets

If they have not fallen down, you will need to take them down before you can repair them.

Step 2: Examine Them

Locate the area of weakness or crack on the curtain rod brackets. If they are chipped, you will need to place tape over it so the rod will not slip out of place. If it is just cracked, you can place the glue and push each half down until they stick to one another.

Step 3: Complete the Repairs

You can either glue the crack back together or tape over where it was chipped. If you do choose to glue it, make sure you use wood glue if they are made out of wood. If they are made out of metal, you can use a hot glue gun.

Step 4: Hang Back up

Once you have made the repairs, you can hang the curtain brackets back up. However, if you have glued it, allow the glue to dry thoroughly first.
