If you have found that your walkway pavers have become loose or are moving about in the soil, then you can quickly remedy this by using a few simple tricks. In order to get the best out of your pavers, small repair jobs like this should be performed regularly.

Step 1 - Remove Sand

In order to fix loose pavers, you should begin by taking off some of the loose sand around the pavers. You can do this using a broom. Once the loose sand is free, pry up some of the more compacted sand using a crow bar. Gently tap the end of the bar with a hammer to drive the sand upwards. Sweep away with the broom.

Step 2 - Repair the Pavers

If any of your walkway pavers are damaged or cracked, now is the ideal time to remove them and replace with brand new pavers. Take off loose pavers, sweep clean with the broom, and then lay them back into the ground. Check that they are level with the rest of the bricks.

Step 3 - Add More Sand

Fill the gaps between the pavers using new sand. Compact it by tapping the pavers lightly with a hammer or mallet and then spraying water over the sand to harden it.
