Chipmunks are a pest and many people are looking to find humane solutions to get rid of them. One of the most common approaches is to let a large pet dog or cat play in the garden during the day. They will scent and mark the whole area which will make chipmunks less likely to enter their territory. There are certain plants that you can also plant in your garden to keep them away.
You can plant garlic, marigolds and nice smelling herbs. These will deter chipmunks and also have the added benefit of scaring away insects and bugs.
Since Chipmunks really don't like garlic, you can make a solution of water and garlic in a spray bottle. To do this crush a few cloves of garlic and mix it with water. Spray this solution onto plants around your garden every day for a few weeks.
If you are still having difficulties with Chipmunks in your garden, another good idea can be to provide food for them in a separate area of your garden. If you provide food, they will leave your vegetable and garden alone.
