How to Seal a Cedar Fence Stain How to Seal a Cedar Fence Stain

What You'll Need
Garden hose or pressure washer
Waterproof sealant
Paint rollers

Sealing a cedar fence stain is one of the simplest things you can do to preserve the life of your fence. As long as you take the time to maintain your fence, it should make your yard even more appealing and for a longer time.

Read the instructions below to find out how to seal your fence with a waterproof sealant.

Step 1 - Clean

First off, you will want to use a hose to spray off any dirt or debris that has accumulated on the fence. Once you have sprayed off your fence, let it dry thoroughly before applying the sealant.

Step 2 - Apply the Sealant

Now you will want to take your paint rollers and saturate the roller with your waterproof sealant. Roll the sealant onto your cedar area, covering the entire surface.

Make sure you generously apply the sealant to your area, letting it penetrate into the wood. This will allow the entire area to be protected.

As long as you have covered the entire area with a good amount of sealant, there should be no need to do another coat.

There you have it. A beautiful cedar fence that is sure to last. Good job!
