A tumbled marble backsplash is one of the most popular and beautiful looks seen in today's kitchens. In order to keep it looking like new, you need to make sure that you seal it periodically. Here are the basics of how to seal a tumbled marble backsplash.
Step 1 - Clean the Surface
The first thing that you will need to do is make sure that the tumbled marble surface is extremely clean. Any dirt or residue that is left on the surface of the tumbled marble will be sealed in if you do not properly remove it. Use a rag and warm water to start out with. Then, if it requires further cleaning, use a cleaner that is designed to clean tumbled marble.
Step 2 - Apply the Sealer
After you let the tumbled marble dry from the cleaning, you need to apply the sealer. Make sure that you have a penetrating sealer that is designed to be used on tumbled marble. Take a rag and use it to apply the sealer evenly to the surface of the tumbled marble.
Step 3 - Apply a Second Coat
Once you allow the first coat to dry, you may want to consider putting a second coat on the tumbled marble. Then allow the second coat to dry before you use the cooking area again.
