What You'll Need
Cloth or rag
Caulking gun
Silicone caulk tubes

You must adequately seal linoleum tile flooring to ensure that moisture does not seep in and ruin the tile. Follow the simple steps below to effectively seal your linoleum flooring with silicone caulk.

Step 1 - Cleaning

Before you begin, prepare the linoleum tiles by sweeping them and then wiping them with a damp cloth. This will ensure that the sealant adheres better to the flooring.

Step 2 - Prepare the Caulking Gun

Once the floor is dry, prepare the caulking gun by inserting a tube of silicone caulk in it, following the instructions on the packaging.

Step 3 - Applying the Silicone Caulk

Next, start to apply the silicone caulk between one tile and another. Simply place the nozzle at one corner of the tile's seam and press, moving along little by little.

Step 4 - Flattening the Caulk

It is important to flatten the caulk to create a smooth and neat finish. Simply wet a sponge in some water and slowly run it over the caulking lines. Continue applying caulk and using the sponge to make it smooth little by little. Do not treat the whole floor area at one go since the caulk dries up quite quickly. It is best to treat a small area of tiles at a time. Once the whole floor area is ready, allow the caulk to set well before you walk on the floor.
