A small crack in your car's windshield will lead to a large problem if it is not taken care of right away. Heat and other factors will make the crack enlarge over time and can even cause the windshield to shatter completely. Rather than paying a large deductible to your insurance carrier, fix the crack yourself at home.

Step 1 - Prepare the Glass

Spray glass cleaner on the windshield and wipe it clean with a dry cloth. Use a hairdryer on low heat to ensure the glass is completely dry.

Step 2 - Apply the Glue

Squirt the glue directly into the crack, all the way across. Do not use the glue sparingly, use a good bit of it in the crack.

Step 3 - Work it In

Use the applicator included with the glass glue to work the glue into the crack by moving it up and down the crack to push the glue in further. Add more glue if necessary to ensure the crack is completely filled. Wipe excess glue from the area around the crack with a cloth.

Step 4 - Clean the Glass

Allow the glue to dry for several hours. Clean the window again with glass cleaner and dry with a clean cloth.
