In most households, a double kitchen sink collects small amounts of food over time, which tends to build up and clog the sink drain, even if a garbage disposal is present. It is fairly easy to unclog a kitchen sink if the problem isn’t too serious. Many families include small children that cannot be exposed to harsh chemicals. This article explains how to unclog a double kitchen sink without harsh chemicals.

Step 1 - Mix the Unclogging Solution

Mix the baking soda and vinegar in the large container to create the fizzing unclogging solution. Run warm water into the sink for about 30 seconds.

Step 2 - Pour Unclogging Solution and Boiling Water

When the water completely drains from the sink, pour the unclogging solution into both drains. After the solution completely enters the drain, pour the boiling water into both drains. This helps the solution break up existing food that is trapped in the pipes. This should completely unclog both sides of the kitchen sink. It is a good idea to use this method every two to three months to prevent future sink clogging.
