A collated screw gun is a type of specialized screw gun that drives screws that are in a plastic strip and inserted in the gun, being automatically fed. Below is a series of simple instructions for using a collated screw gun.
Step 1: Select the Proper Screws
Collated screws come in a variety of types for a variety of uses. Select the proper type and size of screw for your work.
Step 2: Insert the Screw Strip
Starting at the top, feed the screw strip into the feed chute of the screw gun until the first screw reaches the screw tip.
Step 3: Apply Power
Most collated screw guns utilize a power cord. Plug this in, using a long enough extension cord to enable you to reach all areas of your work. If you have a cordless type, insert the battery securely.
Step 4: Begin Work
Once you have screws and power, it’s time to start driving screws. Press the head of the tool against the surface being secured, pull the trigger and a screw will be pushed through the collation strip and screwed into the pieces being secured.
