How to Use a Handheld Steam Cleaner
Many people today use a handheld steam cleaner to clean their homes. The cleaning method of a steam cleaner is that it heats up the water and cleans with the steam produced by the boiling water. Some people also say that a handheld steam cleaner is a very useful stain-remover as well. It is quite easy to use but keep in mind that if you use a steam cleaner too often, it tends to get choked up.
Step 1 – Connecting the Nozzles
Before you start your cleaning job, you need to connect the large steam nozzle or the steam jet nozzle to the cleaner unit. Make sure that the nozzle is fastened securely into place.
Step 2 – Filling the Unit With Water
First of all, you need to put the unit on a straight smooth surface and remove the plug when you are going to fill the unit with water. Pour the water into the measuring cup until you reach the top line. If you want your handheld steam cleaner to last longer, it is better if you fill it with distilled water. Now align the spout of the measuring cup to the fill hole of the steam cleaner and pour down the water slowly.
Pay a lot of attention when you are filling the unit. You should never look down the fill hole and as you are using one hand to hold the measuring cup, keep your other hand away and do not let young children come too close. After you finish, you can put the safety cap back into place.
Step 3 – Using the Handheld Steam Cleaner
Connect the plug of the steam cleaner into an electric socket and you will immediately see that the steam-ready light is on. Before you start your cleaning job, find the steam button situated right on the handle and press it. Make sure that the nozzle is not facing yourself or other persons before you press the steam button. After you finish, disconnect the unit by removing the plug.
Always check that the boiler is full before you operate the handheld steam cleaner. If there is no water in the boiler, do not use the steam cleaner because you may damage it. Wait for at least half an hour to let the boiler cool down.
Step 4 – Cleaning and Storing the Steam Cleaner
Disconnect the nozzles from your handheld steam cleaner if you are going to clean it. Put it in a sink and throw away any remaining water and rinse the reservoir thoroughly before you put it back into its storage place.
When you are using a handheld steam cleaner, there are also some safety procedures that you need to follow. Make sure that you are wearing a pair of shoes when you are using the steam cleaner and do not capsize it. Do not even turn it by a degree greater than 45 degrees. Never put your hand in the steam and remember to let the unit cool for 5 minutes after you unplug it and before you take off the safety cap.
