There are actually number of ways that you can use earthworm compost effectively. Here are some of the different ways that you can utilize earthworm compost.

Mulch

One of the most common uses of earthworm compost is as a mulch. This compost produces a very nice mulch that can hold moisture for a long period of time, much longer than most of the other types of mulch that you can buy. If you decide to use your compost as a mulch, you can start spreading it around the outside of plants, trees and bushes and anywhere else that you would ordinarily put mulch. In order to do this, you may need to put the compost in a bucket and shovel it out into place.

Compost Tea

A compost tea is a liquid that is naturally produced from the compost itself. This is not a tea that you will actually drink, but a nutrient-rich additive you can apply to plants. To create this substance, shovel some of the compost into a bucket full of water. Alternatively, you can put the compost into a burlap sack and then put the sack down into the water. This should be done if you want to keep the water and the compost separate but you want to allow the water to get the nutrients that are in the compost.

Garden Fertilizer

Another potential use of perform compost is to use it as a garden fertilizer. To do this, you can use your shovel to dig up some of the dirt that is already in the garden. Then you can shovel some of the compost down into the hole. Cover it back up with the regular soil and plant your garden. At that point, the vegetables in your garden should grow very well. To apply, you can simply spread it out over the area that you want to fertilize. It will work its way down into the dirt and help your grass grow thicker.
