How to Use Victor Mole Traps Correctly

What You'll Need
Victor Mole Trap

Moles are a pesky problem for anyone’s yard. Victor mole traps can help homeowners catch these pests and get rid of them. They are most effective when used in tunnels frequented by moles.

Step 1 – Identify Mole Activity

Find out where the moles are tunneling. Close off some tunnels and see which ones are reopened after a day or so. This will help you better find the mole. Spring is the best time to identify active mole tunnels.

Step 2 – Read the Instructions

Victor mole traps work best when the trigger is placed over a blockage in the tunnel. When the mole reopens the active tunnel, it will trip the trigger.

Step 3 – Install the Trap

Put on a pair of gloves to minimize human scent on the trap. Block part of the tunnel, placing the trigger part of the trap over it. Push the trap into the soil. Pull up on the pin until it clicks into place to prepare the trigger.

Step 4 – Wait for the Mole

Check the trap. Once the pin is back at ground level, you’ll know that the trigger has been tripped. Remove the trap and dispose of the mole in the trash.
