Vinyl tile adhesive allows you to install vinyl tiles yourself with relative ease. However, it does require a very specific process to apply it properly.
Step 1 – Applying the Adhesive
Be sure to read the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the vinyl tile adhesive before you begin using it. Different adhesive products require varying times for the adhesive to set before you lay the tile. Use a trowel to apply the adhesive to the floor.
Step 2 – Laying the Tiles
Position the tiles onto the adhesive in a downward motion. This will prevent the adhesive from coming up at the edges. Install each tile right next to the one before it. Continue laying the tiles in this manner until the floor is complete.
Step 3 – Rolling the Tiles
Use a roller to secure the tiles to the floor. Move the roller in one direction over the floor. Move the roller in the opposite direction that you are working in. For example, if you are working left to right in the room, push the roller right to left.
