How to Use Worm Gear Clamps to Stop a Water Line Tubing Leak How to Use Worm Gear Clamps to Stop a Water Line Tubing Leak

What You'll Need
Worm gear clamp
Screwdriver
Wrench

If you have a low pressure leak from a water line, then the perfect solution is to use a worm gear clamp to secure the hole. You can use this to connect a piece of tubing around the hole, or you can choose to fasten it over the hole as it is. All that you need to do is fix the worm gear around the piping, and you will have the solution to your leak.

Step 1 - Get the Worm Gear Clamp

You will need to begin by selecting the right worm clamp for your purposes. In order to match the type of clamp, make sure that you know the size of the tubing.

Step 2 - Position the Worm Gear Clamp

Once you have the right size, open up the worm gear clamp by using the screwdriver to turn the screw to the right. The threads should then come free of the band. Pull the clamp open, and slide it around the tube. Fit it over the leak.

Step 3 - Secure the Worm Gear Clamp

Once you have the clamp in position, slot the threads back into the band, and start tightening the screw. You may need to tighten it using a wrench. Twist until the leak stops.
