If I harvest rainwater can I drink it? If I harvest rainwater can I drink it?
People that harvest rainwater, primarily use it for watering their lawn or gardens. Some farmers harvest rainwater as an inexpensive way to irrigate their crops. One of the temptations about rainwater is to assume that, because it falls from the sky, and is collected in a clean harvesting system, that it is safe to drink. Unfortunately, with so many chemicals and gases being released into the air, it is not safe to drink rainwater without treating it first. Prior to drinking harvested rainwater, you should boil it for an extended period of time. Even after boiling rainwater, you should use a filtering system to clean the water before drinking it.
