An in-ground pool coping is a very important feature of a pool. This is the part that brings the edge of the pool up flush with the pool deck. Sometimes, the pool coping will need to be replaced for one reason or another. Here are the basics of how to replace a pool coping successfully.

Step 1 - Remove Old Coping

Remove the old coping materials. Many times, this will be constructed of rock or some other similar substance. You will most likely need to use a chisel and hammer to remove this. Make sure to remove any mortar or thinset as well. Make sure to make the area as clean as possible.

Step 2--Install New Coping

Once the area is completely clean, you should now install the new coping material. Mix up some thinset or mortar and apply it to the area with a trowel. Place the new coping material into the thinset or mortar. Press it down into it firmly and evenly.

Step 3--Allow to Dry

Once you have installed the new coping material, you need to make sure that you allow to dry thoroughly before use.
