Installing a Pizza Oven in Your RV

If you have ever considered installing a pizza oven in your RV, you may be surprised to know the process can easily be done within an hour using only simple tools and equipment. Installing a convection oven will not only give you the chance to enjoy exotic meals such as pizza and lamb but you will also get to save time and energy in the process. A convection oven is a great way to cook pizza and other delicious dishes from the comforts of your RV.

You can easily source the type of pizza oven that is right for your recreational vehicle. Keep in mind that due consideration should be given to the actual size and bulk of the oven. Remember also the pizza oven must be installed in a proper cabinet to maximize the functionality and space of your motorized vehicle. A variety of portable pizza ovens are available that are designed especially for RVs. They are smaller, lighter and more compact than other models on the market.

Step 1 - Prepare Everything that is Needed for the Installation

Gather all the materials you'll need. Inspect the RV cabinet for strength and integrity when installing a large convection oven. Compact pizza ovens are smaller and can fit almost anywhere but the placement should still be checked to ensure the appliance is secure within the confines of the cabinet.

Step 2 - Shut Off Power Source

Shut off the circuit breaker to cut the electrical supply. Although this procedure is not required for small and compact pizza ovens, it is still best to be safe when it comes to making electrical connections in the RV. Installing a large oven will require you to connect the appliance directly to the main power outlet and you need to cut off the electricity to avoid electrocution.

Step 3 - Connect the Wiring

Connect the wiring from the junction box of the oven to the main outlet or electrical box. If your pizza oven comes with a standard plug, you can just plug the oven to the socket. If not, you will need to cut and splice the cable wires using a wire cutter and wire stripper. Connect the wires to the electrical box. You may need to tighten and secure the wire connection by turning the fastening screw using a screwdriver. Any exposed wiring should be wrapped in electrical tape to prevent electrical shock.

Step 4 - Install the Oven

Lift the oven to the cabinet shelf and push it in place. Make sure there is adequate space on the top, bottom, and sides of the cabinet. Experts would recommend at least 1½ inches of separation between the cabinet and the sides of the oven.

Step 5 - Screw the Cabinet in Place

Secure the oven in place using a screwdriver. For the proper mounting of the cabinet, follow the instructions provided in the manual that goes along with the product.

Once the cabinet and the oven are put in place, you can now test your pizza oven by turning on the main power source.
