Installing an Electric Shower Installing an Electric Shower
An electric shower is a great way to keep your shower water warm. It might sound crazy, but the electric shower will save water, provide instant hot water, and money on your hot water bill. Installing an electric shower is quite easy and will only take a few minutes.
Step 1 - Locate Shower Unit
When you buy the electric shower, a template will be included. Use this template to mark the position of the unit on the wall.
Step 2 - Drill Holes
Following the marks you made using the template, drill the pilot holes for the mounting hardware. Drill another .5-inch hole in the shower wall for the copper piping that will connect the unit to the water.
Step 3 - Make Water Connections
Using the fittings with the copper pipe, you will attach the pipe to the water valve and to the shower unit.
Step 4 - Install Electric Shower
Mount the shower unit on the bracket and the shower head to the end of the copper piping.
Step 5 - Make Electrical Connections
You will have to cut another hole in the ceiling to place your pull switch. Run the wire to a power source and to the shower unit. Make the connections and install the cover for the switch.
