A modern bathroom vanity can have a sleek and contemporary look that is incomparable. Bathroom vanities have a very important place in bathroom design. A fine-looking modern vanity can uplift the overall outlook of your bathroom. You can install a modern bathroom vanity yourself, with careful planning and preparation by following these steps.

Step 1 - Disconnecting the Water Lines

If you have an old bathroom vanity, you must remove it before installing the new one. Turning off the water at the mains. Then turn on the faucet to drain the rest of the water. Use an adjustable wrench to disconnect the water lines from the sink, drain, and faucet. Then remove the faucet.

Step 2 - Removing the Bathroom Vanity Countertop

Remove the bathroom vanity countertop by removing the screws at the corners of the countertop. The vanity may not come out easily, as it is fixed with adhesive. Use a pry bar to get it out. Now you can remove the screws from the back panel of the bathroom vanity.

Step 3 - Checking the Floor and Wall for Damage

Once you have removed the old vanity, check the floor and wall for damage. Common problems are rotting or dampness on the wall or floor. Repair damage right away.

Step 4 - Measuring and Cutting for Pipes

Measure the width of the pipe and mark it on the back of the bathroom vanity. Drill a hole anywhere on the marked line. Slide the jigsaw blade inside and cut along the marked line. Make sure the pipes slide through the holes easily.

Step 5 - Find the Studs on the Wall

To screw the modern bathroom vanity to the wall, you need to know exactly where the studs are. A stud finder can help you mark the stud positions.

Step 6 - Check the Floor Levels

Slide the vanity into place against the wall. Check the floor levels. If the floor is not level, you can use shims to level the vanity.

Step 7 - Install the Faucet

For most modern bathroom vanities, the faucet needs to be fixed in place before the vanity is screwed to the wall. If that is the case, you can fix the faucet with silicone.

Step 8 - Fix the Vanity Onto the Wall

Screw the vanity on to the wall and spread adhesive on all 4 sides of the vanity. Place the countertop and screw it into place. Reconnect the plumbing lines and your modern bathroom vanity is ready to use.
