Commercial black vinyl tile may be suitable for flooring in the kitchen, hallways or bathrooms and may be easily installed. The advantages of these types of tiles include the price and the time spent on installation.
Tools and Materials Needed:
- Self stick vinyl tiles
- Rolling pin
- Measuring tape
Step 1 – Clean or Remove the Old Flooring
If needed, remove the old flooring, or clean the area, so that the black vinyl tiles can be easily installed. If needed, you will have to even the surface, either by filling the holes or sanding the outstanding portions.
Step 2 – Measure the Room
Measure the room and find a point to start installing the vinyl tile. Ideally, you should start in the center, so mark the middle point of each wall. You may also start in a corner.
Step 3 – Install Tiles
Place the tiles without removing the paper that protects the adhesive and don’t leave any room between the tiles. Cut the tiles that are at the edges and don’t fit.
Step 4 – Remove Paper
Starting from a corner, remove the paper that protects the adhesive and then press the tile on the floor using the rolling pin. If you need to fit the tiles around various pieces of furniture, you should make a pattern out of cardboard first and then cut the tile according to the pattern.
