Is it easier to repair a bathtub drain stopper than replacing it? Is it easier to repair a bathtub drain stopper than replacing it?

Replacing a bathtub drain stopper is a pretty simple task; most DIY novices can complete the task in quite a short space of time. The price of a new bathtub drain stopper is quite cheap also, so it would probably work out quicker and cheaper to replace your bathtub drain stopper, rather than repairing it. First, remove the old bathtub drain stopper from the chain, using a pair of wire cutters. Second, attach the new bathtub drain stopper to the chain, using a metal ring which can be pulled apart slightly, in order to loop it though the plug and the chain, and the pushed together, so it does not come apart.
