Is sandblasting difficult when removing paint from brick?

There are several kinds of remodeling projects that would require removing paint from brick. Some examples include restoring the exterior brick of a building, restoring a brick fireplace or removing paint from a brick patio. But one of the worst things you can do is try to sandblast the paint off the surface of the brick. Not only is sandblasting paint cleanly from brick difficult, it is nearly impossible. Brick is a soft building material, and using a sandblaster will remove the paint from the surface of the brick and about half the brick with it as well. Avoid using a sandblaster to remove paint from brick.
