When you choose your outdoor carpeting, you need to make sure the carpets are weather resistant and suitable for areas with high traffic. The maintenance of outdoor carpeting is fairly simple.
You Will Need:
- Cleaning brush
- Water hose
Step 1 – Install the Carpeting Properly
Make sure the surface on which you install the outdoor carpeting is clean and dry when you perform the installation. This will ensure that the carpets are more durable.
Step 2 -- Clean the Carpeting Regularly
Clean the carpeting on a regular basis. Use a cleaning brush to remove dust and other debris. Alternatively, use a vacuum cleaner. If you want a more thorough cleaning, remove the carpets and use the vacuum cleaner and then apply detergent and scrub the carpets. Dry the carpets before you put them back outdoors.
Step 3 – Remove Stains
Use detergent to remove oil stains. If the stains persist, employ diluted vinegar or bleach.
Step 4 – Remove Mold and Mildew
Outdoor carpets may be exposed to mold or mildew formation. Check periodically for signs of mold and mildew and apply diluted bleach or vinegar. Drying the carpets in the sun may also reduce mold and mildew.
