A boat trailer tire is in storage more than not. This means that a boat trailer tire is more likely to suffer weather related damage than road wear. This can be prevented by covering them. You can purchase boat trailer tire covers, but you can also make them. This article will show you how.

Step 1 – Measurements

Use the tape measure and take down the measurements of the boat trailer tire. Measure the height and the length of the tire as well as the thickness.

Step 2 – Cut out the Cover

Take the measurements from the boat trailer tire, and transfer them to the tarp. Incorporate the thickness of the tire, and then cut it out with a pair of scissors.

Step 3 – Prepare the Boat Trailer Tire Cover

After the tarp has been cut, fold each edge over by ¼-inch, and then duct tape it down. Make a hole at each corner and in the center of each edge.

Step 4 – Using the Boat Trailer Tire Cover

Center the cover over the tire. Place the hook from a bungee through 1 of the corners. Stretch it behind the tire, and hook it to the opposite corner. Repeat with the remaining holes.
