There are many advantages to installing a marble floor or a ceramic tile floor in your bathroom. While both add beauty and function, they also come with their respective drawbacks.

Ceramic Tile

Choose a grade of ceramic tile that will endure extreme use over a period of time. Ensure that the ceramic tiles are installed properly. If the tile is to be installed on concrete slabs, any damage to the concrete can translate to damage to the tiles. If your ceramic tiles are installed over wood floors, they will be vulnerable to flex movements. Use silicone sealer to prevent discoloration.

Marble Flooring

Marble stains and breaks easily. Even water can leave a stain on marble if it remains there for a long time. Clean spills immediately to prevent stains. Use a clean cloth and a mild detergent to clean your marble floor once a week. You can also use non-yellowing wax to provide an extra layer of protection.
