Once you know the shape and size that you want the box to be, you will need to make sure that you get it properly cut. You may need a professional to do this for you. However, if you have welding experience then this is something that you can do yourself. Make sure that you have measured the area that the table will go in. Once you have the measurements along with a good idea as to what shape you want it to be you are ready to begin.
Step 2 – Get Proper Wood
Look for wood that is going to be able to hold up the metal part of your table. This wood needs to also be able to withstand the elements in addition to hold up such a heavy weight. Make sure that the wood that you choose is of the proper width and height.
Step 3 – Bracket Fitting
You may want to have your outdoor table have brackets attached to it to ensure that the table itself can be supported. You will want to make sure that the table will last you for a long time to come. Brackets will be able to ensure this for you. Plastic anchors may be necessary in order to get the screws that are in the brackets held into place. These anchors are not necessary but if you feel like you need that extra bit of security, they are the way to go.
Step 4 – Fit Table
You are now ready to fit the legs of the metal part to the rest of the table. Make sure that you have the legs properly secured along with the brackets to the table. You may need to have a friend help you to lift get the metal properly attached to the wood as the metal is going to be bulky and difficult to hold on your own.
Step 5 – Finishing Up
You are now ready to add varnish to the wood part of the table. This will help the wood to last much longer as well as protect it from any scarring or scratching. Test out the table by sitting it upright and moving it slightly before setting anything on it.
