October DIM Star: Stair Upgrade

Once a month we like to shine the spotlight on an impressive DIYer by giving their shared project the ol’ “Did It Myself” (DIM) stamp of honor. And, as an added bonus, all DIM Stars are automatically entered into consideration for our first annual DIM Awards next May.

This month we congratulate “rondrob66” on their stair remodel. Share your project and next time it could be you!

What They Did

"Rondrob66" replaced the original carpet from the stairs in their '80s-built home with hardwood floor. They tiled the foyer for better wear and tear against water and snow, in addition to making some structural additions to the stair construction with stringers.

Why We Like It

These DIYers upgraded their staircase and improved the value of their home by removing old carpeting, as well as improving the structural integrity of their staircase. The end result is modern and sleek.
