Painting Concrete Stepping Stones Painting Concrete Stepping Stones

What You'll Need
Resilient tarp
Concrete-safe paint
Breathing mask
Expendable towel
Garden hose
Paintbrush
Gloves

If your home's front or back walkway features concrete stepping stones, you may want to consider painting them. In just a few easy steps, you can effectively breathe new life into your home's walkways.

Step 1 - Prepare Your Concrete Stepping Stones

Before proceeding to paint your stepping stones, you will need to carefully remove them and place them atop a large tarp. Make sure to wear a pair of gloves when performing this and subsequent steps in order to keep your hands dirt and paint-free. Next, use a garden hose to rinse any dirt or debris off the stones, then follow up by drying the stones with an expendable towel.

Step 2 - Apply Your Paint

Now that you've prepped your stones, don a breathing mask and begin applying your paint in smooth, even strokes. When carrying out this step, make a point of painting one side at a time and take care not to begin painting the second side until the first has had time to fully dry.

Once both sides have been successfully painted, consult the paint's packaging to determine whether or not additional coats are recommended. Lastly, lay your freshly painted stepping stones along the path of your home's walkway.
