Leaking deck cover can be very annoying especially during the rainy season. With water seeping right into your furniture and floor, things can get really messy and uncomfortable. To fix your leading deck cover, here is what you should do.

Step 1 – Fix Small Rips and Holes

If you are using canvas sheets to cover your deck, you may fix the small rips and holes in your canvas using adhesive tape. To do this, remove the canvas from the rods and wires supporting it and spread it flat on the deck. Piece together the rips on the sheet and put waterproof adhesive tape on top of it. After fixing the rips and holes on the canvas, replace the canvas on your deck roof.

If you are using wood shingles to cover your deck, go up to the roof of your deck and apply sealants on the holes and cracks on your roof.

Step 2 – Replace Badly Damaged Parts

You need to replace the badly damaged areas in your deck roofing. If you are using canvas roofing, simply take down the old canvas and replace it with a new one. If you are using wood shingles, take out the damaged shingles one by one and replace them with new ones.
